Old School

Finishing School.

Swiss lakes and mountain air. European etiquette in wood-panelled rooms.

Instruction in eloquence and good manners.

These were the finishing schools of the last century:

Preparing young people to enter adult society.

Called Charm School in North America, young women would learn social graces and cultural customs that would prepare them to:

  • confidently converse in society (but never about politics),

  • acquire a wealthy husband (their mother’s dream),

  • run a household,

  • host a party or luncheon (with perfectly placed cushions).

And do it all With a Smile

It is clear why the finishing schools of the past have fallen out of fashion today.

But in their time, they did fulfill an important role.

Now, you may not be aspiring to become a domestic goddess and just that. So we propose a Finishing School suited for YOU and for THESE times.

If you actually want to finish with school, that means you have to contend with becoming an adult. Becoming an adult is much more than getting a good job and moving out of your parents’ house. It is about defining who you are and how you carry yourself in the world.

Eloquence and manners are more valuable

now than ever.

LEt’s Face it:

It’s all about your manners

How people see and know you is determined by your manners.

Manners are your social barometers measuring how you relate to other people and the world. Manners are not just about being polite, saying and doing the “right” things to please someone, gain their acceptance or to conform to the status quo. Your manners run much deeper. They are connected to what you value, the lifestyle choices you make, and most importantly, they dictate the habits you adopt and live by.

Manners are not just:

What shows up in the picture. Manners are the way you arrived to the moment captured.

Your hairstyle and make up. Manners are the rituals you carry out daily to take care of your body.

The outfit. Manners are the way in which you dress, how you look after your clothes, and then, move in them. Life is all about your style.

How you eat at the table. Manners include the art of being fed and who you feed too.

How much money you have. Manners are what you do with it.

What you know. Manners are the words you choose to speak to friends, strangers, loved ones, and enemies too.

Your manners are the way in which

you ARE you.

Your manners reveal:

How YOU “do life”.
